BE A PART OF ASIA's BIGGEST FUNDRAISING EVENT : NGO REGISTRATIONS OPEN NOW

Dear NGO friends,

Warm Greetings from United Way of Mumbai.

United Way of Mumbai has been the philanthropy partner of the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM) since the year 2009. In its 11th edition, the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, reinforced its position as not just India’s biggest sporting event, but also as the biggest charity event in India and the Asian subcontinent. Given the sheer potential, it is not surprising that for non-profit organisations, the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon is the one of the most sought after calendar events for fundraising for various causes and important projects. Through United Way of Mumbai, the official philanthropy partners of the event, Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2014 has raised INR 20.11 Crores for 269 participating non-profit organisations, addressing important causes and uplifting many lives.

We are back this year with the 12th edition: the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2015. In keeping with the intent of simplifying and augmenting the fundraising experience for nonprofits, we present the Charity Structure which details the eligibility criteria, the different categories and the process for concerned citizens, students and corporate houses.

To simplify, it is presented in two parts, the synopsis and the detailed annexures. CLICK HERE to download the charity structure.

For those who have participated before, here are a few aspects that you will find new.
A NEW NOMENCLATURE : Participants in the Dream Team participants are now called The Change Runners.
PRE REGISTRATION DONATION WAIVED FOR CHANGE RUNNERS: No minimum amount to be paid to register in any of the Change Runner Categories.
A COMPLETE REVAMP OF CATEGORIES: At 10,000 an individual becomes a fundraiser and United Way of Mumbai machinery kicks in to support and encourage the fundraiser to raise more funds. Do check the charity structure for a special rewards and recognition by United Way of Mumbai for NGOs when fundraisers reach 50,000 and 1,00,000. At 1,50,000 the fundraiser gets a bib and becomes a change runner and avails a host of other rewards. Read on to check the exciting benefits at different levels for Change Runners in the Charity Structure.
NEW CATEGORY: A new category “Student Challenge” has been introduced. Educational Institutions can participate in this category and raise funds for their favorite charity.
CORPORATE TEAM: In the wake of the recent CSR bill, we have introduced new procedures for corporate team bookings. Please read the annexures in the Charity Structure very carefully for different options.
CORPORATE CHALLENGE: To ensure an exciting fundraising platform within the corporate, each employee is encouraged to participate in the corporate challenge to raise more funds. The highest fundraiser in every corporate will be honoured with a trophy.
FUND UTILIZATION REPORT/ STATUS: Every NGO would have to submit their fund utilization report or plan for the funds raised through SCMM 2014. Please share a one page summary on the same. CLICK HERE to download.

Also, last but not the least, we would like to interact with you more often on a personal level. We also would like to encourage more interaction between nonprofits and sharing of best practices. So, we have created a space in the world's most loved social media site – Facebook. Do take time to join this Group and interact with one another. It is called “All For A Cause”. Here’s the link http://bit.ly/allforacause

Let me also take this opportunity to introduce you to my colleague Ankita who will be handling NGO registrations this year. Ankita is reachable at ankita@unitedwaymumbai.org

We eagerly look forward to your active participation in SCMM 2015.

We are excited and are sure that you share the same enthusiasm.

Together, let’s not just fund raise, let’s friend raise!

Warm Regards,
